As part of the recent TBEX travel media conference held in Toronto I was able to take a tour called "World in a City" which visited and provided an overview of several of Toronto's best known ethnic neighbourhoods - Koreatown, Little Italy, Chinatown, Little India and Greektown.
The Bay of Fundy, which stretches for 270km between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on Canada's Atlantic coast, is home to the world's highest tides and one of the most popular places to experience and appreciate this natural wonder is Hopewell Rocks.
As part of the TBEX (travel media) conference that was recently held in Toronto, I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Future Rouge National Urban Parkwhich encompasses more than 40 square kilometres and is accessible just a short distance from downtown. Canada's largest and best-known city is also a fun family-friendly destination. The multi-cultural city of Toronto has something for everyone - museums, galleries, shopping, entertainment, diverse neighbourhoods and fabulous food. I have lived in the city of Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area for more than 20 years and still have much to explore in this vibrant city so don't expect to see everything in a few days. Pick a few things that appeal to you and the kids and just enjoy your visit to our beautiful city.
We have been traveling to Prince Edward Island as a family for many years and one of the things that we love most about the island is the Anne of Green Gables connection. Both of my girls have grown up with Anne stories and some of our best family memories revolve around PEI and the red-headed orphan.
I'm sure that many of you are already familiar withTrekaroo, the community driven guide with thousands of reviews of hotels, restaurants and activities written by traveling parents, but I have only become involved with the website in the last few weeks and I'm finding it to be an incredible resource for parents searching for family-friendly destinations.
The Canadian capital of Ottawa, Ontario is one of the most family-friendly destinations in the country. No matter the season, families will discover a city which boasts world-class museums and other attractions, encourages outdoor activity and is home to several outstanding festivals.
I had never heard of Elliston, Newfoundland before visiting there this past summer and it was quite by accident that we discovered this small town on the Bonavista peninsula. We were staying at Terra Nova Resort and planned a day trip to Trinity and Bonavista. While reading a provincial visitors' guide we noted that there was a puffin viewing site in Elliston en route to Bonavista and since our Witless Bay tour hadn't gone quite according to plan, we decided that it would be worth a stop.

I want them to grow up to be proud Canadians who appreciate everything that we have here and share that love of country with friends they meet around the world.
There is still plenty of winter left in Canada so if you're searching for a great place for the family to get away and have some fun in the snow then the village of Montebello, Québec, located midway between Montréal and Ottawa in the Outaouais region of Western Québec, should be at the top of your list.
