A contest called Capture the Colour is inviting bloggers to select a photo that best captures each of the following colours: Blue, Green, Yellow, White and Red. Thank you to Lisa from New Life On The Road and Cathy from Traveling With Sweeneywho both nominated me to participate.
I love to take photos and I have always loved to have them printed and organized into albums so that I can browse them whenever I like. This became a little more difficult after switching to digital photography because I was soon taking hundreds more photos on each trip. Sorting, organizing and then printing the best photos was becoming an overwhelming task. I realized that I was getting close to 2 years behind in printing photos and I desperately needed a solution.
I am taking part in HostelBookers7 Super Shots after being tagged this past week by Mary from The World is a Book. I agreed to participate even though I have been secretly dreading getting tagged and having to write a post featuring 7 amazing photographs. I was dreading it because I don't think that I am a particularly good photographer. I use a simple point and shoot camera, I don't have a particularly good eye and I take far too many photos of my kids to ever be featured in National Geographic. I do love my photos though because they mean a lot to me even if they don't seem that special to anyone else.
There seems to be an entire industry out there devoted to providing tourists with tacky photo opportunities - you know the ones that a real "traveler" would never dream of taking. Tacky or not, those photo ops are popular because they result in a fun souvenir and I'm not too proud to admit that our family has taken our fair share of these pics while traveling.
