St. Petersburg, Russia with Kids
I have posted a report on the two days that our family spent in St. Petersburg, Russia while on a Baltic cruise in the summer of 2009. Over the course of two days spent with a private guide and driver, we were able to see Catherine's Palace, the Peterhof gardens, The Hermitage museum, The Winter Palace, St. Nicholas' Cathedral, St. Isaac's Cathedral, Our Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood and the statue of The Bronze Horseman.
Helsinki, Finland
I have just posted a trip report for Helsinki, Finland which was one of the ports of call on the Baltic cruise that our family took during summer vacation in 2009. Knowing that we had limited time in Helsinki, we decided that our goal was to see some of the best known attractions, have fun and try to form an impression of the city.

St. Patrick’s Day
St. Patrick's Day began as a religious holiday celebrating a patron saint of Ireland but has gradually transformed into a secular celebration of Irish culture by the Irish, the Irish diaspora and everyone who just wants to join the party. Nowadays when St. Paddy's day rolls around, rather than heading to a pub for some green beer, I find myself thinking about Ireland and reminiscing about our trip there in 1996.
