Our family had only one day in Stockholm so we had to choose between the immensely popular VASA Museum or Junibacken, the Astrid Lindgren museum. We chose Junibacken and my 6 year old daughter left with fond memories of Stockholm and Pippi Longstocking as a result.
If you are going to be in Québec City then you may want to head to La Musée de la Civilisation (www.mcq.org) to see the new exhibit "Rome: From the Origins to Italy's Capital" which will be there from May 11, 2011 – January 29, 2012. Visitors will be able to explore the history of Rome from its mythical origins to its emergence as the capital of a reunified Italy. This exhibition was created in collaboration with the most prestigious museums of Rome, the Capitol and the Vatican and features over 200 artifacts which bear witness to Rome's rich culture and history and its development across the centuries.
On April 5th, 2011 the Harry Potter Exhibition opened at Discovery Times Square (www.discoverytsx.com) in New York City on its final North American stop (mere days AFTER we had visited NYC for spring break). Discovery Times Square which bills itself as "more than a museum" is New York's first large-scale exhibition center. It is a vast space which once housed the New York Times printing presses and is located on W. 44th between Broadway and 8th.
